Take a Shuttle ride up from Ohakune Township to the Base Area Carpark of Turoa, Top of the Ohakune Mountain Road. Ride back down the 17km fully tar sealed road. The cost is per person and includes bike transportation to the drop off point and food/refreshment at Freddies Cafe. The views from the top of the road are spectacular. Option to Ride the bottom section of Ohakune's newest trail Te Ara Mangawhero which branches off at approx 3.5km (14km into your downhill adventure). Looking for the perfect way to start your day? Here’s how it works:
Start by picking up your mountain or e-bike from TCB Bikes, then sit back and relax as Dempsey Transport takes you on a scenic drive to the top of the 17km road leading to Turoa Ski Field. Once you arrive, enjoy a mouthwatering brunch at Freddie’s Cafe, where you can choose any menu item plus any coffee or beverage to fuel up for your ride ahead.
After brunch, hop on your bike and enjoy a thrilling downhill ride through scenic mountain trails, lush bush, and stunning vistas. Whether you're cruising or carving through the trails, it’s the perfect way to experience nature and enjoy the fresh air.
